For Students

As an education-focused journal, The Biophysicist is dedicated to serving students by providing various opportunities to grow in the field of Biophysics. Read more below to discover the different ways students can get involved.

Write for The Biophysicist

We welcome students to submit articles to all sections of The Biophysicist. We especially encourage students to submit to the Student Forum section, which is specifically created with students in mind as a place where they can provide their perspectives on topics in biophysics and scientific training.

Page Charges

Submissions to the Student Forum, Book Reviews and Comments section after acceptance will be published with no charge. For all other article types, members of the Biophysical Society at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUI), community colleges or other non-research institutes will be given reduced page charges.

For more information on page charges, see the instructions for authors.

Get Involved

Become a member of the Biophysical Society to become eligible for lowered page charges and other benefits, such as:

• Free access to all BPS career webinars
• Attend BPS Annual and Thematic meeting and pay significantly reduced registration rates.
• Access to Biophysical Journal online

We also encourage students to join a Student Chapter of the Biophysical Society. The Student Chapter program promotes biophysics as a discipline across college campuses through activities organized by the chapters.
